I have become a fan of food events. Lately, I enjoy attending fun, food-themed events, cooking demonstrations, tastings, and food walking tours in the city. I will use my spare time to look at websites that list event calendars which provide information about upcoming public food oriented events in the city. Of course, not every event is free or extremely expensive. So when I hear about one that sounds like it’s too good to pass up, I get overly excited and can’t wait to attend!
This week, at the MOMA (The Museum of Modern Art), there will be a food film series presented in the theatre inside the building. This sounds like an incredible event that would be interesting, fun and engaging! One of my absolute favorite food films this year is Julia and Julia. It was so unreal and wonderful; I couldn’t tear my attention away from the television screen!
During the week, the top film I am looking forward to viewing is the screening of Jiro Dreams of Sushi. The screening for this film is being held on Tuesday, August 23, 2011 at 4pm. The best part about attending this screening on Tuesday, is that there will be a great food panel presented shortly after the screening. The panel discussion will include questions with Dieter Kosslick, Ruth Reichl, and celebrated chefs Gabriel Kreuther and Michael Romano.
Until next time, Have a good night!
